US passes bill to increase Syria, Iraq refugee screening

Lawmakers in the United States of America’s House of Representatives have passed a bill calling for tougher screening of Syrian and Iraqi refugees, in particular, coming into the U.S.

President Barack Obama, who announced in September that the U.S. would resettle some 10,000 Syrians within one year, has threatened to veto the new bill put forth.
