Growing number of post-Thanksgiving consumers shop online

“Black Friday” which is one of the biggest shopping days of the year for U.S. consumers. Held on the day after the Thanksgiving holiday, Black Friday is a tradition of stores offering deep discounts that draws crowds to shopping centers across the country.

But more shoppers are making purchases online. Data for this year shows that U.S. consumers spent $1 billion online on Thanksgiving Day alone, a 22 percent increase from last year.

Even more digital deals will be unveiled at this weekend, ahead of yet another shopping day that online retailers call “Cyber Monday.”
