The consumer price index (CPI) in China grew 1.5 percent year over year in November, which is an increase from October and slightly better than the 1.4 percent average for the year, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics.

The rise was attributed to higher food prices and rising costs for medical care and transportation. However, producer prices are still flagging, with the PPI sinking by 5.9 percent for the third month in a row.
