The Volkswagen scandal began in the U.S. where it has done much of the damage to the German car maker’s sales, but the company is determined to make an impact in a market where it has barely any presence.Far from retreating from the U.S. market, where the emissions scandal is starting to hurt sales, Volkswagen is expanding its operation in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
It plans to almost double the workforce over the next year or so and is also due to launch a sports utility vehicle specifically for the American market.
