The much-anticipated release of the latest film in the “Star Wars” series hits theatres Friday, in what is expected to be the largest movie premier in Hollywood history. Movie stars and some lucky fans got to see an advanced screening Monday for the (likely-to-be) blockbuster’s red carpet debut.

With some pegging it as the biggest film release of the century, here’s a look at how some analysts estimate “The Force Awakens” could rake in some $9.6 billion in revenue in just its first year.

Various TV licensing could bring in $235 million domestically and $214 million internationally.

The sale of the movie on DVD and across streaming services is estimated to bring in just over $450 million in revenue.

An estimated $1.2 billion in revenues between two Star Wars-themed videogames: Star Wars Battlefront ($780 million) and Disney’s Infinity 3.0 ($500 million).

Seeing “The Force Awakens” in the theatres is estimated to bring in $734 million in domestic box office sales and $1.65 billion in international sales.

Merchandise — everything from Luke Skywalker figurines to Chewbacca pyjamas to Dark Side makeup — could bring in $5 billion in revenues.

So between box office sales, DVDs, TV agreements, videogames, and all that merchandise, “The Force Awakens” could be worth $9.6 billion by the end of 2016.
