Geminid meteor shower lights up northern China's sky

The Geminid meteor shower was seen in northeast China overnight Monday until dawn on Tuesday.

As chilly winds drove away smog, people in northern China braved the cold to observe the annual celestial event, which peaked at 2:00am with 120 meteors per hour.

Every year, the Geminid meteor shower lights up the sky in December.
