On Tuesday, negotiators from the government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) have agreed on a reparations deal for victims. It’s the most significant issue to be overcome during the 3-year long peace process.

CCTV America’s Michelle Begue reports from Bogota.

The agreement gives specific details on efforts that will be made to bring about truth, the reparation of victims and guarantees to not repeat violence. The deal also includes a system of transitional justice that will be in charge of trying crimes committed during the armed conflict.
