In Afghanistan, government forces and British advisors are arriving on the front lines in Helmand Province, as the Taliban pin down security forces.

Government forces have been losing ground in the southern region for days. Afghanistan’s Defense Minister is asking for air support to end the Taliban offensive.

The Province borders Pakistan and has been cited as an important poppy-growing region for Taliban militants.
