Professor Christopher Simpson on comfort women agreement

World Today

Former Korean sex slaves from World War II have criticized the agreement reached by Tokyo and Seoul on making amends.

CCTV America’s Mike Walter talked with Christopher Simpson about this. He is a professor of Journalism, American University.

The women vented their anger and frustration at South Korea’s Vice Foreign Minister when he visited their residences.

The women say the government made the deal without discussing it with them first.

They also said that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe should apologies in person, and not through his foreign minister.

Up to 200,000 women were forced to be sex slaves during World War II.
