Bouts of choking smog in China are making the fight for clean air a top priority there. The Chinese government is pledging to reduce the density of the most dangerous particles by 40 percent in five years.

A new pollution law will take effect on the first day of 2016.

Jennifer Turner, the director of the China Environment Forum at the Woodrow Wilson Center spoke to CCTV America about the issue.
