Gunman carried out Philadelphia police attack ‘in name of Islam’

In the U.S. city of Philadelphia, a police officer was ambushed by a man pledging allegiance to ISIL. The gunman shot and wounded the officer, before escaping on foot.

The suspect was captured minutes after he fired on an officer sitting in a parked cruiser.

Philadelphia police said the unprovoked attack on one of their officers was being investigated as an act of terror, and that this was an attempted assassination. But they want to know a lot more about the suspect and who he talked with before the attack.

CCTV America’s Brian Mooar reports from Washington.
