The Heat: Moving forward with Iran

The Heat

Iran is back and open for business. The International Atomic Energy Agency confirms Tehran has fulfilled its commitment in the nuclear deal.

The sanctions, which had crippled Iran’s economy for years, have been lifted by the United States, European Union and the United Nations.

Iran will now have access to billions of dollars of frozen assets and can sell its oil internationally. Tehran also released five imprisoned Americans while the United States granted clemency to seven Iranians as part of a prisoner swap.

Leaders from both countries called the deal a milestone in international diplomacy.
