Detroit was once a thriving center for the automotive industry in America, which gave it its old nickname: ‘Motor City’. Decades of industrial decline and downsizing rendered the embattled city an example of urban decay.

As Detroit works to emerge from bankruptcy, efforts are building to re-brand the city as a tourist destination, and somewhere for new businesses to grow.
