The Malaysian parliament has approved the Trans Pacific Partnership deal after a 2 day debate.

This is a domestic step leading up to the signing of the trade pact with 11 other member states next week. Malaysia’s government says the wide-ranging trade and investment deal is in the country’s interests, but many are protesting against it.
