Syrian American Council’s Omar Hossino on Syria’s refugees

International donors have pledged billions in humanitarian aid for Syria. This coincides with intensified fighting around Aleppo, and the suspension of peace talks as parties fail to agree on basic ground rules.

CCTV America’s Elaine Reyes spoke to Omar Hossino, the Director of Public Relations and Outreach for the Syrian American Council.

Turkey claims that intensive Russian airstrikes near Syria’s second largest city, Aleppo, are pushing tens of thousands of refugees towards the Turkish border.

Following the collapse of peace talks in Geneva, the United States has called on Russia to end the bombardment. The military campaign in Syria has overshadowed a humanitarian conference in London, where world leaders are trying to raise nine billion dollars in aid for Syrian refugees.
