Violent protests leads India to revise its caste-based quota system

After a week of violent protests, India has agreed to revise its caste-based quota system. The upper-caste Jat community demanded the same advantages afforded lower castes.

The unrest led to clashes between protesters and security forces. At least 12 have been killed, and there’s damage to critical public services.
