Russia-US draft calls for Syria ceasefire to start Saturday

The two main groups at war in Syria are the military, loyal to embattled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and a loosely-linked network of rebel fighters who are tentatively agreeing to a truce.
The deal was brokered by the United States and Russia. Russian leader Vladimir Putin says this is a real chance to stop the bloodshed – and a chance to get aid.

A ceasefire set to go into action in days, does not include ISIL or the al-Nusra Front. CCTV America was joined by Kamran Bokhari out of Toronto. Bokhari is a fellow with George Washington University’s Program on Extremism, and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ottawa.
