Police arrest suspects linked to Brussels attacks in several countries

The only person charged in connection with the the deadly Brussels terror attacks has been freed from police custody.

Police in four countries have arrested suspects believed to have links to the Islamic State attacks in Brussels and Paris.

Dutch anti-terrorism police on Sunday arrested a 32-year-old French national in the port city of Rotterdam on France’s request.

Italian authorities arrested an Algerian man over the weekend-suspected of having forged documents for militants linked to the attacks.

In Belgium police have released a longer version of surveillance footage, appealing for more information about the mystery man in a light jacket and hat-seen at the airport with two of the accused suicide bombers.

Belgian media reported that a man arrested and charged last week with “terrorist murder” was this individual.

But on Monday, the police released him due to lack of evidence.

Meanwhile, four people injured in the bombing have succumbed to their wounds, raising the victim death toll to 35.

Officials warn this number could still go up. 28 of the victims have now been identified but only 18 names have been released.
