Road of the future? Telsa self-driving cars turning motorist’s heads

Global Business

Tesla Motors is promising self-driving capabilities for its new cars. But for those drivers not willing to wait for another two years to get that kind of technology, there are other options.

CCTV America’s Hendrik Sybrandy reports from Denver.

They are the cars of the future, so-called autonomous vehicles that literally take the steering out of a driver’s hands. And some of the drivers are already taking these so-called autonomous vehicles on the road.

Tesla’s autopilot feature, when activated, keeps the car inside lanes on the road and senses vehicles around it. It adjusts the vehicle’s speed to traffic, brakes the car when needed and, with a driver’s prompting, changes lanes when it’s safe.

It’s perfect for long-distance drives, according to drivers that have used it.
