China & Canada celebrate cultural year with musical exchange

China and Canada are celebrating their cultural year with a series of cultural exchanges.

A concert of original works has been held in Toronto involving young musicians from both countries.

CCTV’s Li Qiong reports.

This is musical communication between East and West: 15 young musicians from both China and Canada gather in Toronto to express themselves through instruments that represent their own cultures.

The concert is one of the activities to highlight the China-Canada Cultural Year. The event attracted more than 100 audience members, mostly young people.

Another dazzling exchange event is the award-winning company Cirque Eloize’s upcoming debut in China. The Montreal-based company will lead a national tour in 19 cities around China with “Cirkopolis,” a creative show that combines the worlds of circus, dance and theater.
