A camera, a selfie stick, and a two month long expedition into China’s mysterious northwest. That’s all one Chinese college student needed to film “his Xinjiang story”.

What can you do with a camera and a selfie stick? Shui Zheng, a student from Xinjiang has presented his answer: a micro documentary called “My Xinjiang Story”.

He’s a student at Xinjiang Arts University. He traveled all over Xinjiang in northwest China.

During his travels, he met interesting people and captured beauty. And it wasn’t always easy – Xinjiang is home to a number of ethnic groups.

“When I arrived Zhaosu to film the flowers, the road was bad, and my trolley’s wheel was broken. At that time, I met a Hui businessman. He offered me a ride,” Shui Zheng said.

2 months and tens of thousands of kilometers later, there is a happy ending to Shui’s Xinjiang story.
