Chinese company IngDan makes inroads in finding US talent

Some Chinese companies are finding a growing opportunity in seeking out technologies from abroad and bringing them into the Chinese ecosystem.

CCTV America’s Mark Niu reports.

Chinese company IngDan is honoring winners from its U.S. “Start Your Hardware Startup” competition.

Out of 265 entrants, the top three receive thousands of dollars in free design and prototyping services and potential access to a massive one-stop supply chain.

Headquartered in Shenzhen, IngDan leverages more than 6,000 suppliers and has helped complete more than 9,000 projects on its platform – including everything from robots to smart sleep devices.

“For small companies, if you want to get certain components, big corporations, they don’t want to talk to you because you are so small. Not worth time, but IngDan we are really specializing in dealing with these small startups. Help them to get the level or the kind of service which is only available for big corporations,” IngDan CTO Shipeng Li said.

IngDan recently opened a U.S. office in San Francisco, where it’s currently looking for talent. The company is in the process of building out a 6,000-square-foot experience center for people to try out various products its helped produce, and to host meet-up events with local startups.
