US couple get custody of adopted son from Africa after 2 year ordeal

A two years wait is finally over for a couple from the U.S. state of Colorado. They have been trying to get custody of a child they’d adopted from Africa.

CCTV America’s Hendrik Sybrandy reports.

In December 2015, CCTV reported on Leo and Heidi’s year and-a-half long struggle to adopt Exauce from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The boy had been legally theirs since the previous January but the Congolese government kept these adoptive parents and many others like them in legal limbo.

Finally, Congo lifted its adoption moratorium. Exauce, whose nickname is Lex, received exit letter approval. The couple flew to Africa to bring him back to his new home.
