Celebrating “Cinco de Mayo” in Mexico

Each year, "Cinco de Mayo" or the Fifth of May is celebrated in Mexico. Parties, dancing, and drinks commemorate a serious moment in its history. In 1862, France wanted to collect on its debts and install its own leader in Mexico. At the Battle of Puebla outnumbered Mexican soldiers defeated a well-equipped French army stopping their advance in the country. Mexico says the Battle of Puebla unified the country and is an example of its adamant opposition to foreign interference. Take a look at how Mexico re-creates this historic occasion.
