Model UN: Today’s teens, tomorrow’s diplomats

It’s like boot camp for aspiring diplomats. Some 2,000 teenagers from around the world descended on the United Nations in New York to play at navigating crises and negotiating peace.

Our U.N. correspondent Liling Tan was there, speaking to today’s youth who may well be tomorrow’s world leaders.

Part of the Model U.N. conference is to give students an experience that is as realistic as possible, including how decisions are made and resolutions are adopted at the Security Council.

At the table, they argue, they compromise, and yes, they vote on resolutions, as they might one day do right here.
