Top envoys from the U.S., Britain, the EU and other organizations and presidents of neighboring countries joined President Mohammadu Buhari of Nigeria for a regional security summit. The focus: defeating Boko Haram.

Buhari claimed he’s made progress against the group since he took office last year. But some 20,000 have been killed, and over 2 million displaced, since Boko Haram launched its insurgency seven years ago.

CCTV America’s Jessica Stone was joined by Nii Akuetteh for more on the security summit and progress being made in defeating the terrorist group. Akuetteh, a Ghana-born policy analyst and activist based in Washington, D.C., was the founding executive director of the West Africa arm of the Soros Foundation. He also founded the Democracy & Conflict Research Institute in Accra, Ghana.
