TPP mock courts simulate legal disputes under regulation

The debate continues over the controversial Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement.

This week, the U.S. International Trade Commission concluded TPP, if passed, would have only a modest impact on the U.S. economy.

The issue of dispute resolution is just one of many areas of disagreement. CCTV America’s Hendrik Sybrandy reports from Colorado.

In the mock legal dispute involving the Trans-Pacific Partnership an Australian oil and gas company is suing a city in Colorado.

Violated the rights, the company argued, by banning hydraulic fracturing or fracking in the city after the company had received a drilling permit and begun work.

It’s one of many facets of the TPP, that Denver’s World Trade Day explored this week. Organizers said there are lots of misconceptions surrounding this tentative 12-nation agreement.
