The Heat: The future of India and China relationship

The Heat

India’s President Pranab Mukherjee arrives in China for high level talks about terror, trade and strategic ties.

The modern relationship between India and China can be traced to 1950 when India was among the first countries to end formal ties with the Taiwan region and recognize the People’s Republic as China’s sole legitimate government.

Now, China and India have the highest GDP growth among major nations and a burgeoning trade partnership.

Still the relationship is not without its challenges, including a nagging boundary dispute, Pakistan, and concerns over the South China Sea among them.
