Zimbabwe tries to revive small farmers’ food production

Saturday marks World Hunger Day, when people worldwide honor efforts to end the global cycle of malnutrition.

According to the United Nations, 795 million people do not have enough food to lead a healthy, active life.

That’s one in nine people on earth, mostly in developing countries. Asia has the most hungry.

Sub-Saharan Africa is the region with the highest prevalence, where a-quarter of the population is under nourished.

The worst drought in more than two decades has led the government of Zimbabwe to warn that up to four-million will need food aid.
