Global Business

China has been the world’s largest market for industrial robots since 2013. Total sales of industrial robots hit 66,000 units last year, according to the International Federation of Robotics.

The country is putting more efforts in growing the sector as it tries to upgrade its industries. It aims to have three to five internationally competitive robotics companies by 2020. By then, there will be at least 100 robots installed per 10,000 employees. For high-end manufacturing sector, the rate will be as high as 45 percent.
