Soccer fans clash with riot police in Marseille

In France, the city of Marseille was shaken for a third day of riots by football fans. Police say several were injured in clashes among French, Russian and English fans.CCTV’s Kate Parkinson reports from Paris.

One England fan is reportedly fighting for his life after apparently being battered by a Russian supporter. It’s unclear who started the troubles but England, Russia and French football hooligans all appear to be involved.

French riot police charged with batons and fired tear gas, for the third day running, as fans threw bottles and chairs yanked from restaurant terraces.

And all this before Marseille had even hosted its first game of the tournament.

And it’s really the last thing the French police need to be dealing with when there is still a very high terror threat and the tournament has been identified as a very likely target for terrorist attacks.

France is also facing multiple strikes including Air France which is likely to affect the EuroCup games.

CCTV’s Dan Williams reports from Paris on the latest developments as fans fight in the stands and streets.
