Britain has voted to leave the European Union. What are the political and economic implications for the U.K. and the EU?
For months, voters in the United Kingdom were faced with a major decision. Should the U.K. remain as a member state of the EU or should it exit? A process often referred to as Brexit. On Thursday British voters opted, by a small margin, to leave.
The historic decision has huge ramifications for the UK and Europe. There were major economic and political fallout. British Prime Minister, David Cameron, announced plans to step down. And, across Europe there are new questions about the viability of the EU.
