Business leaders voice concerns following Brexit2

The U.K. government began the process of sounding out the concerns of British business in the wake of the country’s vote to leave the European Union.

Britain’s Business minister, Sajid Javid will be asking the views of groups representing all sectors of the U.K. economy.

CCTV’s Richard Bestic reports.

Those taking part in the meeting represent the opinions of business leaders employing millions of British workers – Leaders from the Confederation of British Industry, the Institute of Director and the British Chambers of Commerce, among others.

The business secretary Sajid Javed will be asking them what the U.K.’s relationship with the European Union should look like post Brexit. However, some of the answers will be difficult to digest.

The Institute of Director’s for example said in a survey of 1,000 of its members, that two-thirds believed leaving the EU would have a negative impact on their business, while the EEF, a body representing British manufacturers will be voicing concerns that a prolonged fall in the value of the Pound will hit the price of imported raw materials.

These are though very much early stage talks Britain’s at the very least two months away from even opening talks with the EU on their future relationship.
