Facial profiling technology used to fight crime, terrorism in Israel

Global Business

New facial profiling technology capable of telling a terrorist from a pedophile is emerging out of Israel.

Innovators have said algorithm-driven face detection is a potential boon for homeland security, but critics argued it crosses ethical lines.

CCTV’s Stephanie Freid reports.

Israeli startup Faception works on the theory that DNA determines personality which is reflected in people’s faces. The company’s technology draws results within seconds.

Seemingly it’s an ideal screening tool in airports or at mass gatherings like Olympic games.

Faceology is negotiating deals with global security linked firms and recently signed a contract with a major homeland security agency.
