RIMPAC 2016, consists of 45 surface ships and five of them from China.

But the vast majority are from the U.S. It gives the host nation a chance to show-off its power.

CCTV America’s Nathan King reports from Honolulu.

Some 45 ships, five submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel from 26 countries are participating in the five-week drills which will be conducted in and around the Hawaiian Islands and in southern California from June 30 to Aug. 4.
