Mourning the victims in Nice truck attack

The images and videos of the violent truck attack in the French Rivera on July 14 have shocked the world. In a matter of minutes, the attacker drove through crowds celebrating Bastille Day, killing 84 people. (Warning some of these images are graphic)

In the aftermath of the attacks, people from around the world mourned and honored those killed. Many countries displaced the tricolored French flag at half-mast and world leaders offered their sympathy.

“It is a tragic paradox that the victims of the attack were people celebrating liberty, quality and fraternity,” European Council President Donald Tusk said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the attack show that terrorism has no religion, race, or nationality.

“Those who carried out this brutal incident have nothing to do with humanity,” Erdogan said.

“We need to see that for the terror organizations, there is no difference between Turkey and France, between Iraq and Belgium, between Saudi Arabia and the United States.”
