The Heat: China’s military progress

From the largest military aircraft in the world to its first overseas logistic base in Djibouti, China’s military looks towards the future. What is the role of China’s armed forces as Beijing continues to rise in global influence?

Days before China’s military celebrates its anniversary, China announced the largest seaplane in the world will join the fleet in the People’s Liberation Army. The PLA has also recently unveiled the largest military aircraft in the world, the Y-20 plane, and continued construction on its first overseas supply port.
