A display of diversity among Democratic delegates

Nearly 4,800 people are playing a significant role at this Democratic National Convention. They’re the delegates who’ve nominated Hillary Clinton as their nominee.

Six percent are Asian-Americans,but what about the rest?

CCTV America’s Frances Kuo reports from Philadelphia.

Around the convention floor viewers will find the Democrats consider a microcosm of America.

And the Democrats argue ‘that’s’ why republicans are out of touch with the country pointing to the mostly white delegates attending the republican national convention.

Jose Miguel Roman is a delegate of Puerto Rican descent. He said Trump’s vision of building a wall and attacks on immigrants have driven many Latinos to the Democratic Party.

Also making their voices heard are members of the LGBT community. This year, LGBT delegates are up almost double from the DNC in 2008.

And then there are the young delegates, like Monica DePaul galvanized by the Bernie sanders movement and this is her first convention.

An engagement that both democrats and republicans hope will be out in force for their respective nominees some election day.
