The goal of this week’s “mini Davos” forum held in Buenos Aires was to convince major international companies to invest in Argentina.

The event showcased several sectors including mining, infrastructure and construction. But it’s the issue of energy that continues to be a stumbling block for the government.

Traditional energy and sustainable energy are among the sectors Argentina has showcased this week at the investment forum in Buenos Aires in a charm offensive by the government.

At the “mini Davos,” there has been an overriding sense of optimism about Argentina’s future prospects. However, that optimism does seem somewhat detached from how many Argentines view changes taking place under the government of Mauricio Macri.
