UN condemns continued Syrian violence

Syria’s military command is calling on opposition fighters to leave the city of Aleppo while the United Nations is condemning the massive bombing campaign against rebel-held parts of the city.

CCTV’s Malini Wilkes reports.

The fighting was fierce throughout the weekend on several fronts around Aleppo.

The Syrian military urged rebel fighters to lay down their weapons and peacefully leave the city.

The United Nations humanitarian chief said he’s deeply alarmed by what he describes as “savagery.”

“The health care system in eastern Aleppo is all but obliterated. Medical facilities are being hit one by one,” Stephen O’Brien, the UN’s humanitarian chief said in a statement.
