Days before the EU-hosted Donors Conference on Afghanistan, European governments have signed an agreement with Kabul, to deport Afghan refugees, allowing European countries to return an unlimited number of Afghan refugees back to Afghanistan.

CCTV’s Filio Kontrafouri reports the story.

The Balkan countries, and Austria, now classify Afghans economic migrants, not refugees. They are not part of Europe’s refugee relocation program.

In the first half of this year, the U.N. said more than 5,000 Afghan civilians were killed or wounded-the highest for any six month period since it began keeping records.

These difficulties, for many migrants, aren’t over. What lies beyond this fence and across the Aegean is their biggest dream. Because of the new EU agreement chances are that dream may never come true.
