The Chicago Cubs are in the World Series for the first time in more than 70 years inspiring much hope in their long-suffering fans. But now, Cubs fans are suffering for another reason.
Tickets at Wrigley Field for Friday night’s Game 3 are at least $1,900 on the Internet ticket exchange, StubHub. And that’s for standing room only. For one seat, you have to pay more than $3,000.
On Friday afternoon, infield box tickets were going for more than $8,500 apiece. That’s more than double the cost of round trip ticket from Chicago to Beijing in First Class.
But even watching it on TV in a bar near the field will cost you, too. Some bars are charging $250 to get in to stand, $1,000 for four people to seat at a table.
