With a high-profile state visit and glamorous state dinner, Chinese President Xi Jinping and U.S. President Barack Obama reinforced the importance of China-U.S. relations last fall. President Obama sought to be America’s first so-called “Pacific” president, increasing the role of the U.S. in the Asia-Pacific region.
