Cigarette smoking is widespread in Latin America. But one country is at the forefront of a smoke-free crusade. Correspondent Harris Whitbeck reports on what Panama has done to kick the smoking habit.  

The introduction of new ways to consume tobacco such as electronic cigarettes has actually spread the habit in many countries throughout Latin America. But one country, Panama, has been wildly successful in helping its citizens snuff out smoking.

Experts believe Panama has saved millions of dollars in treating smoking-related diseases since the new law went into effect.  If smoking education continues, especially for children, that number could grow even more.
