Protesters in front of the President’s office in the Romanian city of Bucharest are diminishing after 11 straight days of demonstrations.

CGTN’s Aljosa Milenkovic reports.

Hundreds of thousands of people showed up to Victoria Square a few days ago to protest against the government and to demand more from the ruling political elite, however only a handful of protesters were present during recent demonstrations to continue the fight.

Despite some political concessions given by the Romanian government, many protesters are still not satisfied. They want more, such as the resignation of the government.

The decreasing number of protesters doesn’t mean the fight is over yet. Those who came to raise their voices still hope that the people will come back in masses.

In order to keep the protest movement alive, those who are supporting them are inventing events like a 42-kilometer (26 miles) marathon around the Romanian government building in the cold.

At Victoria Square, many volunteers can be seen running a marathon. But in order to win in their anti-corruption battle, they will need a different kind of stamina.
