Top envoys from the U.S. are travelling to Mexico to try to repair damaged ties over trade and immigration policies.

CGTN’s Franc Contreras reports from Mexico City.

This week, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Dept. of Homeland Secretary John Kelly will sit down with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, as well as their Mexican counterparts. They’ll also kick off talks that will focus on immigration.

These meetings come just days after U.S. Homeland Security announced a crackdown on immigration policies.
