Syria's Civil war

After six years of war in Syria that has killed hundreds of thousands, the guns are still firing and the devastation continues.

There is new fighting in Damascus and in central Syria.  And, the major push to drive ISIL out of its stronghold in Raqqa is still to come. All of this as interested parties like Russia, Turkey, Iraq, Iran and the Kurds have stakes in the outcome.

Meanwhile, the United States is engaged too and a U.S. Senator warned over the weekend that President Donald Trump is dragging America deeper into the war.

Still, peace efforts have been underway in Geneva where the United Nations envoy for Syria is trying to move things forward.

For the latest details on what’s happening and Syria and how things are changing, CGTN’s Alaa Ebrahim reports.
