Germany’s Borussia Dortmund football team has played their postponed Champions League game against Monaco, amid heightened security.

German police have arrested one suspect in connection with the attack, saying he has “Islamist links.” They are searching for another.

CGTN’s Guy Henderson reports.

Authorities said three identical letters were found at the scene of Tuesday night’s attack targeting one of Europe’s top football teams.

Calling on Germany to end its military involvement in Syria. That evidence is still being treated with caution.

The German Chancellor isn’t, at the moment, calling it terrorism. “From the bottom of our hearts, we wish the injured player Marc Bartra but also the policeman a complete recovery. We agree that this is an appalling crime,” Merkel said.

Nonetheless, teams across the continent are bringing in immediate changes. Security was increased at top-flight games in both Munich and Madrid.
