Annual festival serves up a taste of Chinese culture in Mexico City

In the heart of Mexico City, the world is on the menu!

The 2017 International Friendly Cultures Fair is underway, offering visitors a taste of culture and cuisine from more than a 100 countries. One country’s cuisine has food lovers craving seconds.

CGTN’s Denny Alfonso explains why China is one of the local favorites.

With over three million people visiting the international event, the occasion is an opportunity for locals to celebrate the cultures of the nearly 100 nations with whom Mexico has diplomatic relations.

Visitors sample everything from Cuban music to Dutch cheese and even exotic dresses from Nigeria.

For some visitors, the fair provides an opportunity to enjoy China’s culture without the expense of flying there. The Chinese Embassy plans to bring artistic groups over to perform in the coming months.
