Brazilian mechanic lights up the world with a powerful invention

Americas Now

Brazilian mechanic Alfredo Moser has been called a 21st century Thomas Edison, thanks to his ingenious invention that uses only a plastic bottle, water and a few drops of bleach, to help the world see a whole new light.

Two million people in over 20 countries are now using what has been dubbed the Moser Lamp. And Moser, who has never sought to profit from his idea, had his benevolence praised by former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon who called him “a true global citizen.”

Correspondent Stephen Gibbs reports on the inventor who is lighting up lives around the globe.
